Paranoia Musique and Arcadia Records joined forces again to bring you, for the first time as a digital release, the split album with Lupercais and Pompas Fúnebres.

Both bands were an essential part of the dark scene in Brasilia (Brazil) in the late 80s and 90s and here we collected some of their tracks (taken from cassette tapes) remastered for this release.

The archaeological work of Arcadia Records is essential to preserve these songs that are a reference for new generations of Brazilian goths and deathrockers.

Lupercais was formed in 1995 and, until today, is a band embraced by the mystique of underground poetry.

Taking inspiration from the English gothic and post-punk scene and also from brazilian bands as Muzak and Finis Africae, Lupercais surrounded itself with images of underground literature, alternative cinema and counterculture (from Charles Bukowski to Nelson Pereira dos Santos). Throughout their brief career, the band released some demo tapes and participated in two important compilation (Atitude Vol. 2 & Violet Carson) before their tragic end: the death of singer Sidney Paulino at the age of 28.

In its meteoric career, Lupercais is a legend within the brazilian underground culture. Their songs are still remembered today and have already been rerecorded by several new names of the current Brazilian alternative scene.

Pompas Fúnebres - Formed in the late 80s, Pompas Fúnebres (which is the title of a book by Jean Genet) took a long time to be embraced by the goths at the time.

Influenced by experimental post-punk bands, they recorded only a cassette tape with one of their rehearsals (where the songs on this album came from) and played several epic concerts which are part of Brasilia’s rock history.

The band was dissolved in 1992, but they are still remembered today for being a strange and original creature in opposition of the formulas dictated by the gothic rock universe.
